Tub To Shower Conversion in Janesville, WI

Our installers here at Sidex recently just finished a tub to shower conversion in Janesville WI for the Wolf family. The Wolf family wanted more of a modern look as well as a more accessible and safe shower.

A tub to shower conversion can be a straightforward job as long as we don’t run into any issues. Here is the description on how the install was done

Process Of The Tub To Shower Conversion in Janesville, WI

1. Demolition and removal

Shut off the water supply
Remove the existing tub, surround, and plumbing fixtures

2. Plumbing adjustments

Move the valve up higher as the height is different from a tub to a shower
Move the drain to accommodate the new base and convert it from 1 1/2 inch to 2′ as that’s the size it’s supposed to be for a shower.

3. Shower pan Installation

Install new plywood before putting down the new base.
Install a waterproof shower base and make sure it is leveled and secured to the floor and studs

4. Wall surround installation

Install the new acrylic wall system and make sure all corners are tight so there is no issues in the future.

5. Fixtures and Accessory installation:

Install the trim kit, any grab bars, shelves, and accessories that the customer picked out as each project is different. This would be the time that you install the shower door as well if it comes with one.

6. Finishing up

This would be the time that you seal all of the joints with a waterproof sealant ane make sure everything is closed up nicely
Clean up and let it cure for 24 hours before using it.

Matte black accessories and shower door installed
